IB to ATAR Converter

IB students don’t receive an ATAR directly — SATAC converts your IB result into an ATAR-equivalent Combined Rank. This uses SATAC’s official 2026 conversion tables.

Equivalent ATAR (Combined Rank)

What’s the difference?

IBAS (studying in Australia): If you complete the IB Diploma at a school in Australia, SATAC calculates an IB Admissions Score from your subject results, then converts it to a Combined Rank — an ATAR-equivalent used the same way as an ATAR for university entry.

Overseas IB Score: If you completed the IB Diploma overseas, your raw IB Diploma Score (out of 45) is converted directly to a Combined Rank instead.

The Combined Rank is the same across every Australian state and territory — it’s used identically to an ATAR for course entry.

These tables are published for the current session only — SATAC advises against relying on any online prediction tool, since conversions are reviewed each year. Your official Combined Rank is issued only by SATAC.
